For both of you who read my blog faithfully (thanks honey), you may have noticed a couple of changes of late. There’s alot that is new and not new.
Like, say, the name.
I had wanted to change the name of ThadThoughts for a long time. I’ve toyed with several, including just using my name like many prominent bloggers.
But I’m just me, and not seeking a platform really. Yet I didn’t like Thad Thoughts, or at least have grown to not like it over the past few years.
New and Not New: The Idea
The idea behind Conquer Technology is really what I like most about my role in the tech world of friends, family and readers: I like helping people extend the use of what tech they already have or are thinking about getting.
I also like helping people to resolve problems with technology, or find ways to make better use of technology.
I want to help people succeed or conquer technology. Thus a new name.
But I am also a leader and have noticed through the years that leaders who don’t stay up on technology trends, irrespecitve of their field, become less effective over time. So I’ll write about leadership from time to time, and will focus on helping leaders conquer their technology as well.
New and Not New: Sidebar
I spend alot of time on the web. You probably do too. Sites that are over stuffed with content across the entire page tire me.
One thing I have done is worked to improve the sidebar. I want it cleaner, more focused, and, hopefully, something you’ll check to see things that matter.
New and Not New: Flipboard Mag
In that cleaned up sidebar you’re going to find a link to my Conquer Technology Flipboard magazine. I’ve created that magazine as a place to collect articles and news that fit the same broad theme of the blog. If you are interested in reading the best of technology posts and articles, that’s the place to start.
New and Not New: Frequency
There was a time years ago when I published daily. It seemed like life was less busy, and the ideas for articles just flowed out.
Not so now.
Now posts don’t jump out of life and out of my head and on to the keyboard. Now writing is a bit harder, and requires more discipline.
I’m learning that as I think of a once a week schedule I can find inspiration regularly enough, and be disciplined enough to capture that inspiration onto a page.
So stay tuned in the coming year for a new and not new blog. If you find these helpful, I’d really appreciate you not just liking the post (which is good), but sharing them as well (which is better).
